Gibson's Discount Center : ウィキペディア英語版 | Gibson's Discount Center Gibson's Discount Center, also known as just "Gibson's" was a department store chain in the United States. After several decades of owning and expanding drug stores, the store chain was founded by H.R. Gibson Sr. out of Texas and spread regionally to other states. The company expanded during the 1960s into the 1980s. At one point in time, the Gibson's store in Hutchinson, Kansas had what was called “The Biggest Outdoor Sign in Kansas.” The first of their discount centers opened in Abilene, Texas in 1936. The Gibson's Discount Centers grew to more than 600 stores owned by the Gibson's family and their franchisees. At one point, it was second in size among discounters to the S.S. Kresge Corporation which opened Kmart in 1962.〔 ==References==
